Holiday to Wales, Folly Farm and Seaside Fun

I've been counting down to the family holiday for what feels like forever. Obsessively counting down the weeks until Wayne and I had some time off work (at the same time!) and could spend some quality family time with Jack. That's the tough part when you both work opposite shifts..

We went to Borth, Wales and spent a week in a beautiful house on a cliff overlooking the sea. I would sit out on the decking or in the conservatory in the evening looking out at the sea, sometimes glimpsing a boat or a dolphin on the horizon. We wanted a relaxing family holiday so tried to mix days of going out and keeping busy with days on the beach full of relaxation. Day to day life is often stressful enough and this was meant to be a break!

We visited the local town of Aberystwyth a couple of times. Walking the high street, visiting the castle and taking Jack to a lovely adventure play area. It brought back memories of my childhood as I have often holidayed here as a child and played on the same swings.

We popped into Aberarean on our two hour journey to Folly's Farm. It was so worth the journey. A farm, a zoo, soft play areas, outdoor play areas, sandpits and a train ride. You name it, Folly Far, has it! If only it was nearer to where I live!!

All in all a lovely week! Roll on next year.

I'm 26!!

I am 26 today. I remember my early life - the years of the tamagotchi, Grange Hill and Bebo. Where my responsibilities mainly consisted of me doing my homework and trying and failing to keep my bedroom tidy. Now my life revolves around nappy changes, temper tantrums and beautiful toddler smiles. I'm truely an adult! Settled
with a beautiful son and a wonderful fiancee.

I've never been particularly bothered about birthdays. I like to read my cards and spend time with my family by in all honestly I'm just another year older! I feel differently this year.

It's my second birthday as a mom and I loved receiving a card with 'Happy Birthday Mom' on it. When I was asked what I wanted, that pretty much covered it. It may sound odd but I love hearing myself referred to as a mom. I feel really lucky to have Jack and cannot imagine life without him. I've gone a bit sentimental and added it to my collection of mothers day cards and birthday cards I have received from Jack (via Wayne!) I currently have four cards. I'll have quite a collection in years to come.

I'm going to spend my day chasing my teething little boy around the house whilst attempting to spend his nap watching a film or reading a book with a hot cup of tea. Won't that make a change!
