MY 2018 GOALS

New Years resolutions - do you make them? I often have the best of intentions come the new year but come the second week of January, I have usually completely given up on what I resolved to do.

This year I thought I would set myself some 2018 goals and share them with you all. I've only set myself a few goals as I really want to be successful in achieving these goals rather than setting too many and not achieving any of them. I'm hoping that the fact that the festivities are over will help me with one or two of these resolutions. 



Be healthier - lose weight and start exercising regularly


Over the last 4 years, my weight has fluctuated a lot. This year I really want to become the healthiest I can be. That doesn't mean I'm completely going to get rid of all the fatty foods in the attempt to be a size 8 - that's not realistic. Instead I'm going to focus on upping my water intake, eating healthier and starting to exercise. 

On a day to day basis, a lack of planning is an issue for me. Whilst I will make sure that Jack has a well-balanced diet, I will often neglect to plan healthy meals for myself. This often results in me reaching for the wrong foods. I did join slimming world last year but found the weekly sessions really hard to fit into my already busy life. I have the books so I'm hoping I can restart my slimming world journey at home.

With an end goal of losing 2 stone, a healthy diet alone will not be enough. I need to exercise. I completed a marathon in October last year and joined the gym not long after. 3 months later I have only been once, something that I really need to change now Jack is at school. I've no excuse with home workouts available on YouTube, I really need to start making more of an effort to exercise.


Have a bit more of a mum/life balance


Becoming a mum is the single best thing to ever happen to me. I absolutely adore being able to spend time playing with Jack. However being a stay at home mum during the week and then working night-shifts at the weekend leaves very little time for anything else. This year I want to see friends more and spend more time socialising. This will take a lot of planning but is something that I really want to improve on this year. I also want to make sure I have a little bit of me-time every day just to do something small like read a few chapters of a book or take a long soak in the bath.  


Stick to a regular blog/YouTube schedule


I have been dabbling in blogging and YouTube for a few years. I will be the first to admit I have been doing it very inconsistently. It's something that I love and feel very passionate about but is the first thing to give when life becomes busy. This year I really want to start blogging and creating YouTube content consistently. I have brought myself a blog planner and have allocated time to focusing on my blog. I've set myself a goal of publishing a blog post on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Alongside that I want to publish a YouTube video on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Jack is at Nursery now so I finally have the time to dedicate to blogging.
