When I was younger I often set New Years resolutions. These would usually be centred around healthy, fitness and dieting and would usually have been completely forgotten by the second week in January. I cannot even comprehend how many gym memberships I have taken out and not used over the years.

This year I thought I'd set myself some goals for 2019. As a working mum I spend a lot of time juggling parenting with my career. I often find that things aside from these get abandoned and forgotten about as they fall lower down on my priority list. This year I thought I'd set myself some goals and write them down somewhere tangible. Hopefully at the end of the year I may even have achieved some of them.
2019 GOALS
  • To blog consistently - This is one of my priorities for the coming year. I have always enjoyed writing and have been blogging for a number of years. I am however terrible at keeping to a schedule. I can post very often or not at all. My aim for this year is to post three times a week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Juggling working and parenting plus my additional disorganisation often leads to blogging falling by the wayside.
  • Complete the Thames Path Challenge - I always enjoy setting myself challenges to complete. I have completed marathons and other various events and last year entered the Cotswolds Way Ultra - a 100km walking event. Due to horrendous blisters I withdrew after 15hrs at the 50km halfway point. This year in September I want to complete some of the Thames Path Challenge. As I am due  baby number two in May this may not be the 100km main event, it could be the smaller 50km.
  • Play Flute/Piano More - I am a music graduate and play both the flute and piano. I used to play daily but since I have had Jack it's just something that I don't make time to do. I want to increase my playing amount this year. I've brought myself a digital piano so I really have no excuse.
  • Plan more Sunday days out - Sunday is the one day in the week where neither myself or Wayne work. It's become affectionately none as 'Sunday Funday.' This year I want to plan more days out on these Sundays. I would like to take Jack to Legoland, the National Space Centre and Bewilderwood.
  • Save for an October Holiday - Now Jack is at school, we are only able to go on family breaks during the school holidays. The price increase of family breaks during this period has hindered our ability to go on a family break in the recent year. This year I would like to save up for a UK family holiday for October Half-Term.
Have you set any goals for the coming year? I'd love to hear what they are. Leave me a comment below and let me know.
